ONE MORE GAME:ONE MORE WIN! for HRBFC

Four days ago, Hampton & Richmond Borough celebrated the anniversary of being crowned Ryman Football League Premier Division Champions 2015/16.

On that day a crowd of 2376 witnessed a tense affair against Enfield Town, where a goalless draw secured the point needed to secure the title.

Moving forward twelve months, and what a twelve months its been.

A fantastic start to the Vanarama National League South campaign, saw The Beavers occupy play off positions for much of the opening two thirds of the season.

In January, Dowse had to reshuffle the pack, as the potent strike force of Jamal Lowe and Nicke Kabamba secured a dream move to the Football League, and subsequently promotion with Portsmouth Football Club.

Dowse and the team dug in and went again, but slowly fell agonizingly out of the Play Off shake up..

SECOND CHANCE SALOON

This week, ahead of the final match of the season, Poole Town who currently occupy 5th spot and Hungerford Town currently in 6th, appealed to The Football Association against the decision to preclude them from the Play Offs due to ground grading issues.

Along with those clubs, Wealdstone currently in 8th spot behind the Beavers also learned that they too would be unable to participate in any Play Offs on the same grounds.

League rules state that clubs down to 7th place at the end of the season, in the event of clubs finishing in the Play Off positions not meeting the grading can qualify to participate in the Play Offs.

Having been in a similar position previously, we have every sympathy for the clubs involved.

This means a win for The Beavers against Concord Rangers on Saturday, or matching Wealdstones result against East Thurrock United will see Hampton & Richmond Borough qualify for the Vanarama National League South Play Off Semi Final where they will take on the second placed team (Either Maidenhead United or Ebbsfleet United)

Arguably, this Saturday is a bigger game for the club than the Enfield Town match at the end of last season, and I am sure you will all agree that Dowse, the management team and the players deserve our full support on Saturday to get us across the line.
