Hearts - Volunteer Opportunities

Dear Hearts Community

As we move into next season, we have a number of volunteer positions we need to urgently fill. These are now roles that are vital to ensure the club runs efficiently. If these roles are not supported over the next few years the club is in danger of folding as the current volunteers are already heavily stretched.

The club is hosting an open evening at the Old Goat (Brouge Twickenham), 241 Hampton Rd, Twickenham TW2 5NJ from 7.30pm until 10pm for you to come and discuss some of these roles with current volunteers at the club. Please come down and see if you are able to help support some of the roles below: -

Julie Syers has held the role of Club Secretary for 2 years, and is potentially stepping down at the end of this season. If we are able to split the secretarial role into three to also support league secretary and discipline secretary we may be able to convince Julie to stay on behind the scenes. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved more in the workings of the club; the roles do not necessarily need any professional experience and would take up to 1-2 hours of your time per week.

New Role as Vice Chairman – role is to help the Chairman, vice Chairman and Secretary with various duties helping run the club. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved a bit more in the workings of the club; the roles do not necessarily need any professional experience and would take up to 1-2 hours of your time per week.

Ellen Purton has held the role as Referee Co-Ordinator for the past two year, and is stepping down at the end of this season. Ellen has been an incredible servant to the club over many years and he will be sorely missed, however we are very lucky Ellen has set up a user-friendly solution for referee bookings. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved a bit more in the workings of the club; the roles do not necessarily need any professional experience and would take up to 2 hours of your time per week.

New role as Assistant Head Coach – role is to help Paul Trowles with weekly coaching session at various training locations. Paul has been a servant of the club for 10 years or more and as the club has continued to grow over 600 player we think it’s time Paul has some assistance. Another excellent opportunity to get involved with the player in the club across various age groups; the role will require a minimum professional experience of 1 year (FA Level 1) and would take up to 2 - 4 hours of your time per week.
