Football is for fun

Happy New Year to all the Hearts family.
With the second half of the season about to kick off, it falls to the Club Welfare Officer to remind everyone, be they players, coaches, managers and/or parents, that we all have a responsibility to maintain and uphold RESPECT, the FA's policy for equality, equanimity and simple, acceptable behaviour whilst watching any football, but whilst watching our children playing football in particular.
Please, please, please remember that everyone is playing for fun, everyone is trying their best and no one is going to die if a mistake is made.
Remember also, that many of our referees are children i.e. under 17, and should be treated as such with regards to safeguarding. I have yet to find a parent who accepts their child being called "a cheat", "blind", "stupid" or any of the many derogatory terms I have heard referees being called over the last four months! It is not acceptable to abuse any official and it is heinous to abuse or threaten a child.
I will sign off by re-iterating the missive I posted at the season's start. It has not diminished in its value.

May I remind all parents (and players) of five facts we should all uphold every match day:
THESE ARE KIDS
THIS IS A GAME
THE COACHES ARE VOLUNTEERS
THE REFEREES ARE HUMAN
THIS IS NOT THE PREMIER LEAGUE

Everyone have fun and good luck to you all! #RESPECT
