Tigers make the long trip to Spencers Wood this Saturday morning to take on the Spitfires. Having twice thrashed the Scorpions in the Autumn, it is likely that the Div C side will be looking for revenge. The match is being played on a brand new 4G pitch so it is hoped that the boys adapt to the different bounce and speed of the ball. Tigers will be without Coach Simon Wallis this weekend as he is on a scouting mission in Austria skiing. Brian Clough & Peter Taylor will step into the breech in the unlikely image of Neil & Mike.
Spitfires have a squad of 12 and have maintained their presence in this Division without much difficulty. Tigers have struggled to hold their own at the improved level, and once again it is likely that they will travel to Reading without a full compliment as we await news on Rufus's availability. Eli is recuperating after being rushed to Hospital last Friday - we wish him well. Hopefully Tommy will have recovered from his bout of illness, and Gabriel does make a welcome return after a wild weekend of partying.
It's an 11am kick-off which may make the journey home somewhat torturous as there is the not insignificant matter of the Calcutta Cup taking place at our end of the M3, although it's a 5pm start. Furthermore, Hearts are the Team Of The Week at Hampton Borough's home game at The Beveree, and no doubt some of the boys will be wanting to go along to that.
