Tigers first away game of the season sees them travelling to Bracknell Forest to take on Ascot United Chargers. Both sides lost their opening League fixture, Tigers 0-2 to Pumas, and Chargers by the same score at Windsor Youth.
Ascot United run four U12 teams, one of which plays Sunday football. Last November, Tigers entertained Chargers at Carlisle Park, securing a 3-2 victory with goals from Hayden and Henry. The latter was man-of-the-match. Sadly, it looks like Henry may be unavailable due to school hockey and Hayden will be playing school rugby this weekend. In the second half of last season following Tigers' promotion, they were pitched against one of Chargers' sister teams, the Raiders, and took a 1-5 hammering. Hopefully, the boys are now at the correct level and will emulate the form of 2016 despite last week's set-back in the derby game.
Along with Hayden's and Henry's enforced absence, Eli continues to be injured. Equally unfortunately, only John made Monday night training, so the boys are still getting to know one another only in match conditions. There were some tired boys last Saturday in the last 15 minutes, so it is hoped that another week back at school and a few early nights will see Tigers stay the distance, despite the early start to be in Ascot for 8.30.
See you on the touchline!
