After the full gamut of outcomes in November (postponed, draw, knocked out on penalties, big win, big defeat), December arrives with an air of anticipation. Tigers entertain Bracknell Athletic Hawks for the first time at what will probably be a frosty and/or heavy Carlisle Park on Saturday. Bracknell Athletic was only founded in May this year so there is no history between the Clubs, let alone the teams, so we extend them a heartfelt welcome.
Hawks have had a tough introduction to League football, having lost all six of their games so far. They have twice shipped nine goals, but it should be noted that they only went down 0-2 at Whitegrove who smashed seven past Tigers last week. Sadly, Hawks game against Wildcats was postponed somewhat inevitably and they do not play Pumas until the following Saturday. With a squad of 12, Hawks should at least have plenty of running in them.
Tigers welcome back Matt and can once again put out a full squad (minus hockey phenomenon Henry) providing Tommy has recovered from his basketball injury. With Ilyas and Eli now finding their shooting accuracy to supplement Gabe's "six from six", we should expect some fireworks in front of goal. If we can just get Rufus, Toby, John and George -the new Beatles?- to find the back of the net, all will be right with the world. Coach Wallis has new boots and feels certain that they, at least, are imbued with magic!
See you on Saturday...
