The Falcons had their final tournament outing to Camberley Youth FC tournament on Saturday 17th
Easily the hottest day of the year so far, the boys covered themselves in sunscreen, loaded up on water, and set forth to try and conquer! They drew their first match 0-0 against Ashford Town Colts. This was followed by two wins against Worcester Park (1-0) and Camberley Rascals (3-0). They narrowly lost their final group game on the last kick of the game against Eversley & California Royals.
FInishing second in their group meant that the Falcons were seeded into the higher section of the quarter final draws. This pitted them against tough opposition in the form of Camberley Raiders. Similar to last weeks final, the opposition managed to apply a lot of pressure, and despite some heroic goalkeeping, the score was 3-0 against.
But once the emotions were out of the way, the boys and parents were able to reflect on a very enjoyable tournament season. Playing football in the hot sunshine was a great reward for all the early winter morning starts especially for away matches. Time for some very well deserved ice creams!
