At last, lovely sunshine and a game in the Sun !!! After the first quarter the Pumas all started to go bright red and had to shed multiple layers of underlayer at the break... Both teams had just 5 players today so all the kids got a full game. From the start the Pumas looked tired, but were doing OK. Ashridge got 1 goal but the game was in control. Pumas drew level and had a number of chances to put players through if the passing had been better. At half time Pumas were one down. Then Pumas pressed the self destruct button. We lost the ball a couple of times from goal kicks and conceded. Our talismanic 66 lost the ball 3 times after a dribble too far and each time rather than tackling back threw hands up in the air rather than trying to stop the opposition charging through to score. Tantrums & Tiaras at the end of the third quarter and it looked like we would have to play with just 4 players. Pumas rallied slightly to pull a couple of goals back but the damage had been done. Coaching points at the end were to emphasize that football is a team game in which everybody has to help everybody else !!!
