Hearts U12 Pumas played in their first Cup Final Saturday 2nd April @ Binfield FC. Every year the coach's priority is Cup glory and for the first time the Pumas qualified from the group stages, and after 2 penalty shoot outs in the last 16 and the Semi Finals reached the Final. Pumas went in confident as the opposition AFC Henley are several places below the Pumas in the same league. But after a competitive first 10 minutes the Pumas made a a number of mistakes and had a disastrous first half. 4-0 down Pumas were in danger of crumbling. Coach's half time talk was the game is gone, 4-0 is almost impossible to recover from. Let's go out there, every player to come off after the second half feeling that they've played as best as they can and walk off at the end being able to hold their heads up high. And they did... In the second half 2 goals from the Pumas invigorated the team, we hit the woodwork 3 times and dominated the second half. With a bit of luck just 1 or 2 more goals would have had AFC Henley panicking and the impossible could have been on..... But we've had a taste of a good Cup Run and roll on Next Year !!!!
